I’m using this week to form some new good habits to carry into the new year and next semester. I started my day by exercising, today was 100 jumping jacks and 25 squats, tomorrow I’ll add in some yoga and I’m hoping to try some variety. My goal is to exercise at least fifteen minutes per day and add time as I have it to spare. I like to do my jumping jacks as soon as I wake up, it’s a good way to get out of bed, wake yourself up, and get energized to do other things. If I don’t do something to wake my body up right away I might just lay in bed for half an hour doing nothing. By next week I want to be meditating at least ten minutes in the morning but for today I just went from exercising to making a smoothie for breakfast. I had one banana, about five pieces of mango, a dollop of peanut butter, about two tablespoons of chia seeds, vanilla protein powder, and fat-free milk. I got ready for my day, about fifteen minutes for hygiene - brush teeth, skin care, clean retainer, deodorant, etc., thirty for my beauty routine, and five to get dressed. I like to decide what outfits I would like to wear at the beginning of my week so that I don’t have to waste any time deciding in the morning when I’m already busy.
I worked on studying ahead for a couple of hours until the Verizon store opened at ten. In between semesters, I like to study ahead, which means that I read through the chapters of my textbooks that will be covered during the semester. I read a chapter thoroughly, and then go back and highlight, pink for vocabulary and definitions, orange for examples, and yellow for other important information. If I have time I start to transfer this into notes, I take Cornell notes that are color-coordinated. When the semester begins I already have a good handle on the content so I can use my time during the semester to focus on actual assignments and mastering the material rather than seeing it for the first time.
I went to the Verizon store as soon as it opened. My phone screen had cracked beneath the protector as well as the camera on the other side. I really enjoy taking photos so it had been incredibly frustrating to me to not be able to capture any of the things I wanted. I upgraded to the iPhone X, it was incredibly easy to adapt to the system of not having a home button and face ID, and my new phone kept all of my apps organized just how I had them before so it wasn’t nearly as much of a hassle as I was expecting. This phone is slightly larger and much heavier than my last phone though.
When I got home I set up my camera equipment and recorded my first two Youtube videos, which will be posted within the next couple of weeks. First, I have to figure out how to edit a video!
