Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn Tandem Reading Guide

When recommending the Throne of Glass Series I often recommend the tandem read of Empire of Storms and Tower of Dawn which take place at the same time but center around different characters. I recommend it this way because Empire of Storms has one of the worst cliffhangers of my entire life and after having read that the idea of reading another entire 672-page novel that had no mention of the characters I most wanted to know about was daunting and it made it incredibly difficult to enjoy Tower of Dawn, which is a good book on its own.

That being said, the tandem read can be daunting because it involves switching between the two books rather often in order to stay in chronological order. If you choose to do the tandem read then I recommend using sticky tabs to mark each chapter that you switch between books that way you don’t read farther than you initially intended to.
